Having your child baptised

Picture
In so far as is possible baptisms are celebrated on the second and fourth Saturday of each month or during 11.15am Mass on the first Sunday of the month.

Prior to the baptism of your child you will be required to attend a short course which is designed to prepare parents bringing their children to be baptised and follows the Rite of Baptism. It explains the words, symbols, questions and actions that have been passed down to us in this great sacrament from the earliest days of the Church. It will give parents a better understanding of what they are undertaking when a child is baptised and will help and equip them in their role of developing the spiritual life of the child.

The course takes place quarterly at the Cathedral Main Hall and the dates for the next series of courses for the year 2010 are as follows:

Saturday, 9th January from 2.00pm to 4.00pm in the Main Hall
Saturday, 13th February    -----------------//---------------
Saturday, 8th May         -----------------//---------------
Saturday, 11th September  -----------------//---------------
Saturday, 13th November -----------------//---------------
