                            Baptisms

Ideally, in the case of baptisms, please give two months notice.

Baptisms are celebrated on the second and fourth Saturday of the month at 12.30pm and occasionally on the first Sunday of the month during 11.15am Mass. Please see below for information about baptism and baptismal preparation.

Prior to the baptism of your child you will be required to attend a short course which is designed to prepare parents bringing their children to be baptised and follows the Rite of Baptism. It explains the words, symbols, questions and actions that have been passed down to us in this great sacrament from the earliest days of the Church. It will give parents a better understanding of what they are undertaking when a child is baptised and will help and equip them in their role of developing the spiritual life of the child.

In order to help towards the costs of providing this course, heating etc. we would ask for a charitable donation of £10.00.

The course takes place every two months either at the Cathedral Clergy House or at the Cathedral Main Hall and the dates for the next series of courses for the year 2012 are as follows:

Saturday, 7th January from 11.00am to 12.30pm in the Main Hall
